Lot 415 | 2022 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 750ml

Lot 415
2022 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

Description

Under its original label previous vintages scored in the mid-to-high 90s from Wine Enthusiast, Wine & Spirits, and Wine Spectator. As many of you know, single-vineyard expressions and meticulous grape-growing finessed by elite winemaking fetch a pretty penny; out of the source winery this allocation-only wine goes for a relatively reasonable $80/bottle, $960/case.

Opening with cranberry, dried herbs and clove dominating the nose, secondary tones of mushrooms, wild blueberries, and rose petals come up with a bit of air. The entry further reinforces the cranberry note with supple yet complex black cherry, dragon fruit, cocoa nibs, and mushrooms supporting deftly interwoven acidity and infinitesimally small, velvet-textured tannins. The finish has good length and is uplifted with barrel spice and vanilla blossoms shifting to cherry and pomegranate.
