2021 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

Lot 479 is a stunningly elegant 100% single-vineyard Pinot Noir shiner from a family estate nestled deep in the Anderson Valley. It’s the smallest Pinot Lot acquisition we’ve made in the past year by a mile, but despite the tiny amount available to us, we ultimately couldn’t say no to this kind of quality. Those of you familiar with the AVA will nod once you see the cork.

On the pour, a refined ruby. Complex aromatics of cherry, raspberry coulis, strawberry reduction, cardamom, and fresh tea leaves draw you deep into the glass. Graceful on the palate, exceptional acidity and brilliant structure are at the core of a terroir-driven expression kissed by vanilla blossoms. The small silky tannins lead to a dry finish, brushed with a touch of barrel influence, resonant strawberries and vanilla bean. Blindfolded, you’d swear it was Bourg in the glass.
