Lot 509 is a dynamic 100% single-vineyard Chardonnay from a winery that made its reputation on crafting white wines right out of the top drawer. Though not traditionally available on the open market, 2023’s prolific yields opened up an opportunity for us to scoop up this allocation-only $60/bottle stunner from our source. We are enamored by its terroir-driven flint, its florals, and its clear signs of high-quality oak aging.

Pouring an angelic pale gold, the aromatic nose sings with lemon oils, white blossoms, almonds, flint, and star fruit. On entry, uplifted citrus and apples give way to fresh-churned butter and hints of caramel, framed by deft acidity, delicate spice, and tropical overtones layered over exceptional weight. A persistent finish of citrus florals, hints of vanilla, and barrel-kissed spice is wonderfully resonant, commanding you to take another sip.
