Éleveur 2020 Pommard 1er Cru Les Chaponnièrs is a 100% single-vineyard gem from one of Pommard’s most revered Premier Cru climats. Masterfully balanced and showcasing an extraordinary vintage, it’s no surprise that the accolades have followed: scores in the mid-90s from multiple authorities, with an additional 93 points from James Suckling under our own label for good measure. Domestic availability is scarce for this kind of quality and it's priced at $130/bottle when you can find it, but we’ve saved you the trouble of hunting it down – these shiners of impeccable provenance are now available direct to your door at over 55% OFF!

A stunning deep ruby hue lures you into the glass, where aromas of raspberries and spiced cherries are kissed by chocolate and freshly ground coffee. A full, rich palate boasts red berries, dried herbs, spices, and cocoa nibs, accented by deftly interwoven acidity and small, polished, uniform tannins providing structure and poise. Subtle earthy undertones and a savory red fruit umami are lifted over vanilla bean and rose hips in a long, resonant finish – a gorgeous Premier Cru expression from iconic Burgundian soil.

It’s time for another celebration of Burgundian brilliance!

We’re thrilled to offer a remarkable wine that any connoisseur would be proud to add to their collection: a Premier Cru Pommard from one of the most celebrated vintages of the past few decades in the Côte de Beaune.

For centuries, the iron-rich clay-limestone soils of Pommard have cemented it as one of the most famous villages in Burgundy. Known for its bold, full-bodied Pinot Noirs (in contrast to the silkier finesse offerings from neighboring Volnay), the recent drier growing seasons have produced grapes with an added burst of elegance and aromatic depth to perfectly complement that signature Pommard power. 2020’s extra dynamic style offers something for everyone: dark fruits and robust structure for the Cab drinker, and an unmistakable Burgundian essence for the Pinot lover.

Our price: $339/6-pack, $56+/bottle.

On the southern edge of the ancient village of Pommard, in the shadow of its 18th century bell tower, sits a small vineyard known as Les Chaponnièrs. The terroir is a vigneron’s dream – old, gnarled vines rooted to iron-rich red clay soils yielding tiny berries of unparalleled complexity. The 2020 vintage was exceptional, and its warm, dry growing season resulted in one of the earliest harvests on record. Our source hand-picked at peak ripeness, with grapes undergoing meticulous sorting and 30% of the harvest left whole cluster for elevated structure and age-worthiness. Following a gentle fermentation and maceration for 24 days, the juice was pressed off the must and aged for 17 months in 30% new French oak.
